Doctor of Sciences
Volodymyr’s research interests encompass astrophysics and astronomy, large-scale astronomical data analysis, the structure and evolution of the Milky Way, and high-precision astrometry. He also works on detecting gravitational waves in astrometric data, processing and analysing data from the Gaia space mission, numerical modelling of astrophysical processes, and modelling the dynamical evolution of toroidal structures in active galactic nuclei. His work also employs machine learning and statistical methods in astronomy.
Volodymyr is a Leading Researcher at the Main Astronomical Observatory of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and a grant-funded researcher at INAF – Osservatorio Astrofisico di Torino in Italy. His work focuses on analysing large astronomical datasets, modelling the structure and kinematics of the Milky Way, and developing methods for detecting gravitational waves through high-precision astrometry. He is a member of the ESA Gaia Collaboration, including the Data Processing and Analysis Consortium (DPAC), Coordination Unit 3, which is responsible for data processing, scientific analysis, and the development of fundamental astrometric models for the Gaia mission.
