Description of the field of scientific research:

Irina studies the physical properties, origin, and evolution of asteroids and trans-Neptunian bodies and the polarimetric properties of the surfaces of solar system bodies.

List of duties:

Irina is the head of a department at the Research Institute of Astronomy at V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, where she researches the physical properties of small bodies in the solar system.

Professional experience:

Since 2012, Irina has been the Head of the Department of Asteroid and Comet Physics at the Research Institute of Astronomy of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University. Since 2013 she has been a Professor of Astronomy and Space Informatics at the same university, and since 2022 she has been a researcher at the Paris Observatory.

In addition, since 2009, Irina has been a reviewer for various scientific projects. Since 2021, she has been the President of the F4 Commission "Asteroids, Comets & Transneptunian Objects" of the International Astronomical Union. Also, since 2022, Iryna has been working as an advisory editor for the journal Planetary and Space Science.

Irina is also a reviewer of scientific publications of the first and second quarters: Astronomy and Astrophysics, Icarus, Nature Communications, Planetary and Space Science, Journal of Quantitative Spectroscopy and Radiative Transfer, Meteoritics and Planetary Science, Journal of Geophysical Research.
