Description of the field of scientific research:

Areas of scientific activity:

1. Elucidation of kinetic regularities and mechanisms of reactions of liquid-phase peroxyacid oxidation of nitrogen-sulfur-containing and unsaturated compounds.

2. Chemical and analytical study of perhydrolysis reactions of functional carboxylic acid derivatives (esters, amides) and nitriles.

3. Processing of analytical methods for the quantitative determination of medicinal and biologically active substances by peroxoacidometry, indirect voltammetry, kinetic-spectrophotometric and spectrofluorimetric methods.

4. Processing of chemiluminescent methods for the determination of medicinal and biologically active substances.

5. Processing of analytical methods for the quantitative determination of peroxide derivatives of carboxylic acids and inorganic peroxides in the composition of disinfectants.

6. Development of chemical and biosensor test systems for the determination of toxicants (heavy metals, phosphorus-containing pesticides, heptyl, etc.).

7. Synthesis, physicochemical properties and specific biological activity

(antimicrobial and antiparasitic, detoxifying) of peroxy derivatives of carboxylic acids.

8. Development of chemical disinfectants (antiseptics, disinfectants and sterilizers) based on peroxide derivatives of inorganic carboxylic acids.

9. Processing of chemical toxicant neutralizers based on peroxide derivatives of inorganic and carboxylic acids.

10. Design of optical (chemiluminescent) chemical and biochemical sensors for the rapid detection of toxicants.

List of duties:

Analytical chemist, Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor of the Department of General Chemistry.

Professional experience:

In 1979, he graduated from the Faculty of Chemistry at the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. In 1989, he was appointed to the position of Head of the Laboratory of Analytical Chemistry. From 1979 to 1980, he worked as an engineer; from 1980 to 1985, he was the head of the laboratory of the Department of Analytical Chemistry at the same university. From 1989 to 1992, he was a researcher at the All-Union Research Institute of Chemistry and Technology of Medicines (Kharkiv), where he defended his PhD thesis.

From 1992 to 1994, he worked as an engineer of the first category at the Department of Physical and Colloidal Chemistry of the Ukrainian Academy of Pharmacy, from 1994 to 1995—as an assistant, and from 1995 to 1997—as a lecturer and senior lecturer. From 1997 to 1998, he was a senior researcher, and from 1997 to 2000, he was a part-time associate professor at the Department of Combat Toxic Chemicals at Kharkiv Military University. In 1999, he was promoted to associate professor.

In 2006, he defended his doctoral dissertation and has been a professor at the Department of Physical and Colloidal Chemistry at the National University of Pharmacy (Kharkiv) since 2007. Since 2001, he has been a permanent scientific consultant at IMPULSE (Gdansk, Poland), developing disinfectants and utilizing toxic chemicals.

He has more than 500 scientific and methodological works, including 340 articles, 40 of which are in the WoS and Scopus databases. He has also developed and patented several new methods and devices, including the Hemotest-M test system for detecting hidden blood.

He is also a member of the editorial boards of scientific journals and a member of the scientific and academic council. He has been awarded diplomas and certificates for scientific achievements and educational contributions.
