Description of the field of scientific research:

His research interests include electrophysiology of ion channels in different cell types, regulation of protein synthesis by RNA interference, RNA editing enzymes and their function in pathology, the evolution of cell molecular mechanisms, comparative animal physiology, and the history of experimental biology.

List of duties:

Oleksii is a researcher in experimental biology (biophysics, molecular biology, neuropsychology) and the history of biology. He studies ion channels, receptors, and RNA biology (RNA interference, RNA editing). He also explores the scientific contribution of repressed Ukrainian scientists.

Professional experience:

From 2002 to 2003, Oleksii was an engineer at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Genetics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. From 2005 to 2016, he worked as an engineer, graduate student, and junior researcher at the International Center for Molecular Physiology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Since 2007, Oleksii has also been an engineer, junior researcher, researcher, and lecturer at the Bogomoletz Institute of Physiology graduate department of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. In addition, from 2015 to 2020, Oleksii was a member of the Supervisory Board of the Scientific Society of Students, Postgraduates, and Young Scientists of the National Aviation University. In 2017, he became a member of the Commission on Combating Academic Dishonesty, Plagiarism, and Pseudoscience member at the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and held this position for three years. In 2017, Oleksii also became the Chairman of the expert group of the popular science conference Brain&Ukraine. Also, from 2018 to 2019, he was a member of the Advisory Group on Reforming Higher Medical Education under the Deputy Minister of Health of Ukraine. Since 2019, Oleksii has been an associate professor of biomedicine and neuroscience at Kyiv Academic University. In addition, in 2007, 2009, 2012, 2013, 2018, and 2019, he was a visiting researcher in laboratories in the United States, Puerto Rico, Singapore, and the United Arab Emirates.
