Description of the field of scientific research:

Metals are protected against corrosion by galvanic coatings. Regeneration of electrolytes from galvanic baths. Synthesis of metal nanoparticles. Study of adsorption of ions from aqueous solutions by clay sorbents, adsorption of ions by materials containing organic and inorganic phases, analysis of surface modification and its activity. Synthesis of coatings for corrosion protection.

Associate Professor of the Department of Theoretical and Applied Chemistry and Candidate of Technical Sciences. She is interested in the following topics: “Adsorption of ions from aqueous solutions by clay sorbents,” ‘Improving the ability of electrolyte dispersion when applying zinc coatings to metal products,’ ‘Improving the technological process scheme of the electroplating industry,’ “Increasing the efficiency of regeneration of technological solutions containing chromium,” ‘Development and correction of electrolyte composition for the creation of antifriction coatings,’ ‘Study of corrosion resistance of metal structures in operation,’ fertilizer production, and teaching of chemical disciplines.

Professional experience:

From 1994 to 1999, Svitlana taught at the Department of General Education at Sumy State University and was an associate professor at the Department of Chemistry at Sumy National Agrarian University from 1999 to 2009.

Since 2009, she has been an associate professor at the Department of General Chemistry at Sumy State University. From 2010 to 2011, she was Deputy Head of the Department of General Chemistry at the Faculty of Technical Systems and Energy Efficient Technologies at the same university. She has been the head of the same department since 2012. Since 2019, she has been the Head of the Department of Theoretical and Applied Chemistry at the Faculty of Technical Systems and Energy Efficient Technologies at the same university.

Since 2024, Svitlana has been an associate professor of the Department of Theoretical and Applied Chemistry at the Faculty of Technical Systems and Energy Efficient Technologies at Sumy State University in Sumy.

In addition, since 2016, she has been participating annually as the Chairman of the Chemistry Jury of the II stages of the Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine competitions in the Sumy region. Svitlana is also an expert on basic scientific research, applied scientific research, and scientific and technical (experimental) developments at the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

Earlier in 2017, she was awarded the third prize for the best collection of materials posted on OCW and the third prize for using mobile devices in education. She also participated in the inter-university competition “Experiment of Approval of Mixed Education.”
