Description of the field of scientific research:

Oral and written everyday speech in the context of Ukrainian-Russian bilingualism, stratification and situational variability of bilingual speech, ethnolinguistic identity, language situation in the Sumy region in the pre-war and wartime periods.

List of duties:

Iryna is a senior researcher at the Department of Stylistics, Language Culture, and Sociolinguistics at the NASU Institute of Ukrainian Language. She is interested in sociolinguistic issues. Her research focuses on the impact of the Russian-Ukrainian war on the transformation of linguistic behavior and ethnolinguistic identity of the residents of the Sumy region.

Professional experience:

Since 1999, Iryna has been a lecturer (1999), senior lecturer (2002), and associate professor (2002) at the Department of Ukrainian Language at the Sumy State Pedagogical University.

In addition, in 2005, she was promoted to associate professor. In 2020, she became a senior researcher at the Department of Stylistics, Language Culture, and Sociolinguistics at the Institute of Ukrainian Language of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

She has also been a member of the editorial board of the collection of scientific papers Dialog der Sprachen—Dialog der Kulturen since 2017.
