Description of the field of scientific research:

Inna's research interests encompass the biocompatibility and potential genotoxicity of novel nanomaterials, as well as the biofunctionalisation of nanomaterials for regenerative medicine. A particular focus of her work is understanding the mechanisms by which two-dimensional nanomaterials interact with and affect biological systems.

List of duties:

Inna Chorna is an Associate Professor at the Department of Biophysics, Biochemistry, Pharmacology and Biomolecular Engineering at Sumy State University. She teaches Biological and Bioorganic Chemistry and Clinical Biochemistry to students in Medicine and Dentistry. She also works at the Biomedical Research Centre, a shared research equipment facility of the Medical Institute of Sumy State University, where she studies the effects of two-dimensional nanomaterials on biological systems.

Professional experience:

Since 2007 — Associate Professor, Department of Technology of Milk and Dairy Products, Sumy National Agrarian University, Sumy, Ukraine.

Since 2008 — Senior Lecturer, Department of Biophysics, Biochemistry, Pharmacology and Biomolecular Engineering, Sumy State University.

Since 2011 — Associate Professor, Department of Biophysics, Biochemistry, Pharmacology and Biomolecular Engineering, Sumy State University.

Since 2020 — Member of the NGO Centre for Ukrainian-European Scientific Cooperation.

Since 2023 — Expert Reviewer for the Eastern Ukrainian Medical Journal.

Since 2024 — Member of the Scientific Expert Group on Risk Assessment of the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection, within the area of nutrition, novel foods and food allergens.

Since 2024 — Member of the Expert Council of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine for the evaluation of research and R&D projects.
