Description of the field of scientific research:

Iryna Dryga’s research is focused on Turkology and linguistics, particularly the history of Turkish and Turkic languages, Ottoman Turkish studies, and the linguistic heritage of the Northern Black Sea region. Her academic interests include Turkic transcription monuments, the history of Turkish literature, lexicography, and contrastive linguistics.

A separate area of her research involves the documentation and study of endangered Turkic languages of Ukraine, including Crimean Tatar, Urum, Karaim, and Qrymchak, in the context of language policy, education, and the preservation of intangible cultural heritage.

List of duties:

She holds the position of Associate Professor at the Department of Turkology. She teaches specialized courses in Turkic linguistics and Turkish language, supervises student research, participates in research and international projects, and contributes to the development of educational and methodological materials.

Professional experience:

Her professional experience includes research, teaching, and expert activities in Turkology and linguistics. At various stages of her career, she worked at the A. Krymsky Institute of Oriental Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, V. Vernadsky Taurida National University, and as a visiting lecturer at Istanbul University.

She has participated in national and international research and educational projects, including the documentation of the Urum language and the development of CEFR-based educational materials for Crimean Tatar. She is the author of scholarly publications and monographs and has experience in expert and project-based work in the humanities.
