Description of the field of scientific research:

She is interested in religious studies, cultural studies, art history, philosophy, and Armenian studies. She also researches the religious dimensions of the modern and postmodern eras, the symbolic and mythological context of the art of the 19th-21st century, and ethno-religious genesis, ethnic consciousness and ethno-national identity, as well as concepts of memory in artistic practices, Armenian studies, and diaspora culture.

List of duties:

Iryna is a member of the editorial board of the publishing house of the Research Center for the History and Culture of Eastern and Central Europe of the University of Leipzig. She is also a member of the editorial board of the scientific journal "Nauchnyi Artsakh" (included in the list of DAC publications of the Republic of Armenia). She is a member of the Association internationale des études arméniennes (AIEA).

Professional experience:

Iryna graduated from the Lviv Polygraphic Institute named after Ivan Fedorov, in 1989. From then until 2011, she worked at the Lviv Museum of the History of Religions, first as a junior and then as a senior researcher. From 2003 to 2006, she also worked as an associate professor at the Lviv Stavropigion University and from 2004 to 2007 at the Interregional Academy of Personnel Management. In addition, Iryna worked as an associate professor at the Department of Oriental Studies at the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv from 2004 to 2008. For another year, in 2008, Iryna held the Associate Professor of Humanities position at the Lviv State University of Physical Culture.

From 2009 to 2014, Iryna worked as a senior lecturer at the Department of Arts Management at the Lviv National Academy of Arts and is currently an associate professor in the same department.

Iryna is the author of more than 110 publications, including five single monographs on religious, cultural, art, philosophical, and Armenian studies. She has participated in numerous international and national academic conferences, seminars, and roundtables. 

She has an honorary diploma from the Ministry of Diaspora of the Republic of Armenia, the Matenadaran Memorial Medal "Saint Mesrop Mashtots," an honorary diploma from the Union of Armenians of Ukraine in the nomination "For a significant contribution to the development of research activities," and the Movses Khorenatsi Medal from the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan for outstanding creative achievements in the field of Armenian culture and a significant contribution to the strengthening and development of Armenian-Ukrainian cultural ties. 

In 2014, Iryna also received the Shevchenko National Prize of Ukraine for her Illustrated Encyclopedia of Armenian Culture in Ukraine. With a Catalogued List of Armenian Cultural Monuments in Museums and Reserves," and in 2022, she received the Sviatoslav Hordynskyi Regional Prize in the field of culture, literature, Art, journalism, and Architecture in the nomination "Art History and Cultural Studies."
