Description of the field of scientific research:

Olha’s research interests encompass sustainable development and technological growth of national and regional economies, economic and energy security, industrial policy, and industrial recovery of territorial communities. Her work also focuses on municipal capacity, transformation of public service systems, social economy and social security, labour markets and human capital under structural transformation, and the energy resilience of communities.

List of duties:

Olha Ilyash is Head of the Sector of Macroeconomic Analysis and Forecasting at the Research Centre for Industrial Problems of Development of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and holds a Doctor of Economic Sciences degree.

At the same time, Olha is a Professor at the Department of Economic Cybernetics at the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.” She also works as a UNIDO National Expert on inclusive and sustainable industrial development. Within UNIDO projects, including the Green Industrial Recovery through Municipality-Based Development in Ukraine programme, she analyses municipal capacities and develops recommendations for restoring public services in war-affected communities.

Olha is also a volunteer with the NGO “Academic Space,” which carries out charitable activities, and leads the international SICRS network focused on research into community resilience and recovery.

2007–2013 — Associate Professor, Department of Enterprise Economics, Lviv Commercial Academy.

2008–2018 — Leading Researcher, Regional Branch of the Institute for Strategic Studies, Lviv, part-time.

2013–2015 — Professor, Department of Enterprise Economics, Lviv Commercial Academy.

Since 2015 — Visiting Professor, University of Economy in Bydgoszcz, Poland.

Since 2016 — Professor, Department of Economic Cybernetics, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.

Since 2016 — Vice-Rector for Research and International Affairs, International University of Finance, Kyiv.

Since 2018 — Dr. Habilitowany, Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, Poland.

Since 2025 — Head of the Sector for Macroeconomic Analysis and Forecasting, Research Centre for Industrial Problems of Development of the NAS of Ukraine.
