Description of the field of scientific research:

Kostyantyn's research interests encompass charged-particle beam physics, generation of coherent electromagnetic radiation, and the geometry of submanifolds in four-dimensional pseudo-Euclidean and pseudo-Riemannian spaces, including space-time geometries relevant to special and general relativity. He also studies non-relativistic and moderately relativistic charged-particle and electromagnetic-radiation systems, including electron emission, transport and beam formation, as well as the generation of coherent microwave, millimetre-wave, submillimetre-wave, and terahertz radiation.

List of duties:

Kostyantyn is a Senior Researcher at the Department of Vacuum Electronics of the O. Ya. Usikov Institute for Radiophysics and Electronics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. His work combines fundamental charged-particle physics with research and development of coherent electromagnetic radiation sources. He is also involved in international research projects, grant writing, project management, and teaching. Within the NATO Science for Peace and Security Programme, he served as the Ukrainian project lead for a research initiative on advanced microwave sources.

Professional experience:

Since 1993 — O. Ya. Usikov Institute for Radiophysics and Electronics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, progressing from Engineer to Senior Researcher.

1995–1999 — PhD Student, Mathematical Institute, University of Oxford, United Kingdom.

2013–2014 — Fulbright Scholar, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, USA.

Senior Member of IEEE; member of the Nuclear and Plasma Sciences Society (NPSS) and the Electron Devices Society (EDS).
