Description of the field of scientific research:
Orysia’s research interests encompass local governance, participatory and deliberative democracy, as well as the concept of defensive democracy. She also studies disinformation and propaganda, media, feminism, women in the military, and Polish-Ukrainian relations. Her doctoral research focused on the impact of decentralisation on the development of participatory democracy in Ukraine.
List of duties:
Orysia's works as an independent researcher in political science. She combines academic research with civic and communication activities and participates in international academic programmes and research initiatives. Her work also includes science communication, public speaking, and grant writing. She has experience as a peer reviewer for the European Journal of Transformation Studies.
Professional experience:
2019 — Intern at the European Company Lawyers Association, Brussels, Belgium.
2020 — Analyst involved in the development of a website for the Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine within the Communicating Europe in Ukraine project.
2020–2021 — Research work at Charles University in Prague within a Visegrad Fund grant, Prague, Czech Republic.
2023 — Research work at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań within a grant from Narodowe Centrum Nauki, Poznań, Poland.
2024–2025 — Fellow of the EU4YOUTH – Natolin Fellowship Programme at the College of Europe in Natolin, Warsaw, Poland.
