Description of the field of scientific research:
Sergiy studies corrosion and anti-corrosion coatings, methods of protection against corrosion-mechanical destruction and corrosion inhibitors. In addition, he researches quantum chemical calculations of material corrosion processes, molecular modeling of transition metal nanoparticle properties in media, and electron microscopy and X-ray microanalysis of material surfaces.
List of duties:
Sergiy is the Head of the Corrosion and Corrosion Protection Department. He is interested in any topic related to material corrosion and corrosion protection methods.
Professional experience:
Sergiy has been working at the Karpenko Physico-Mechanical Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine for 29 years since 1992. Since 2020, he has been the Head of the Department of Corrosion and Corrosion Protection.
In addition, since 2006, he has co-organized the Center for the Collective Use of Scientific Instruments “Center for Electron Microscopy and X-ray Microanalysis,” at the Institute of Physics and Mechanics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. At the same time, he was responsible for the operation of the equipment.
Sergiy is also a reviewer for Materials Science and Questions of Chemistry and Chemical Technology journals.
