Description of the field of scientific research:

Halyna studies sociology of communication with a focus on responsible artificial intelligence governance in social impact organizations. Her research addresses policies, practices, and perceptions of generative AI technologies used in work with vulnerable groups.

Her academic interests also include social impact assessment of technologies and organizations, data-driven public relations and communication analytics, monitoring and evaluation methods in sustainable development and energy projects, as well as sociological research in crisis and wartime contexts.

List of duties:

Conducts research in sociology and social communication, participates in international research projects, and carries out sociological studies, monitoring, and evaluation of social programs. Has experience in teaching, professional training, and grant proposal preparation.

Professional experience:

Her professional experience includes research, teaching, and project-based work in sociology, social communication, and social impact evaluation. From 2012 to 2023, she served as an Associate Professor at the Department of Applied Sociology and Social Communications of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, combining academic teaching with participation in national and international research projects.

In 2022–2023, she was a Research Fellow at Bern University of Applied Sciences, working on evaluation and data-based public relations in educational communication. Since 2025, she has been a Research Fellow at the Human-IST Institute of the University of Fribourg (Switzerland), conducting research on responsible AI governance in social impact organizations within an international project framework.

Her experience includes coordination and moderation of sociological research in healthcare, decentralization, anti-corruption policy, social entrepreneurship, and crisis and post-conflict contexts. She is the author and co-author of peer-reviewed publications in international academic journals.
