European Square: a space of (un)memory
A project to rethink the space of European Square, the Memorial of Glory in Vinnytsia, dismantle it, and move the objects and graves of the Red Army to the Museum of Vinnytsia.

Mariia explores the problems of adaptation of the displaced and the military, post-memory, the role of the "Soviet" in it, and the relationship between IDPs and local communities.
Mariia is a Ph.D. student in Migration Studies and Social Anthropology at The Ethnology Institute National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. She is interested in internally displaced persons in Ukraine due to Russian aggression and the Russian war and their sociocultural integration in the new conditions. Maria also leads a Telegram channel about anthropology called "Anthropology and Ethnography."
From 2019 to 2022, Mariia worked as a researcher at the “Vinnytsia History Center” at the Department of Culture of the Vinnytsia City Council.
Since February 2022, Mariia has been a researcher at the “Vinnytsia Museum.” In addition, since March 2019, she has been a member of the “Podil Heritage” group at the History Department of the Vinnytsia Mykhailo Kotsiubynskyi State Pedagogical University.
