Description of the field of scientific research:

Mitochondrial functioning under physiological and pathophysiological conditions, oxidative stress, cardioprotection, antioxidants, gas mediators, mitochondrial time, calcium homeostasis, aging, Nrf2, doxorubicin-induced cardiotoxicity, ferroptosis.

List of duties:

Alina has worked as a Postdoc at the Centro de BiologĂa Molecular Severo Ochoa (CBMSO), Madrid, Spain, since June 2024. His research focuses on the role of the transcription factor Nrf2 in protecting cardiomyocytes from doxorubicin-induced damage.

Professional experience:

Since 2011, Alina has worked at the Bogomolets Institute of Physiology as a student, doing her bachelor's thesis. In 2013, she defended her master's thesis, which she also performed at this Institute. In November 2013, she entered the postgraduate program of the same Bogomolets Institute of Physiology, which lasted 3 years. Since 2016 (after graduation), she worked as an engineer, and then since 2018, as a junior researcher at the same institute.

On June 30, 2020, she defended her dissertation on the topic: The role of hydrogen sulfide in the regulation of calcium homeostasis and mitochondrial function in adult and old rats. After defending her dissertation, she went on maternity leave.

Alina has also been a member of the Biochemical Society since 2017 and the Physiological Society since 2016.
