Description of the field of scientific research:

Yulia's research interests encompass mycology, fungal biodiversity and systematics, fungal communities in natural and anthropogenically transformed ecosystems, soil ecology, and soil biocenoses. She also studies microorganisms in culture, fungal biotechnology, botany, plant biodiversity, and phytopathology. A particular focus of her work is biodiversity conservation and monitoring, as well as the ecological impact of warfare on ecosystems and approaches to the restoration of disturbed territories.

Yulia is Head of the Department of Biology and Biology Teaching Methodology at Sumy State Pedagogical University named after A. S. Makarenko. She combines teaching and research in biology, mycology, ecology, and biodiversity. She also works as a researcher at Hetmanskyi National Nature Park and is involved in conservation, scientific expertise, international research projects, and science communication.
