Description of the field of scientific research:

Yuriy’s research interests encompass sustainable tourism development, particularly in protected natural areas. His work also focuses on the conservation and use of cultural heritage in tourism, the development of cultural and nature-based tourism, and strategies for rebuilding Ukraine’s tourism sector during and after the war.

List of duties:

Yuriy is a Professor at the Department of Tourism and Hotel and Restaurant Business at Lviv University of Trade and Economics. He combines teaching and research in tourism and hospitality with participation in international educational initiatives. Within the Erasmus+ DITEL and Entrepreneur projects, he works as a project manager and researcher.

Professional experience:

2001–2006 — Lecturer at the Departments of Economics and Resort Management, Drohobych Ivan Franko State Pedagogical University.

2006–2016 — Assistant Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, and Associate Professor at the Department of Management, Lviv Commercial Academy.

2016–2018 — Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Commodity Science, Management and Services, Lviv University of Trade and Economics.

Since 2016 — Associate Professor and Professor at the Department of Tourism and Hotel and Restaurant Business, Lviv University of Trade and Economics.

2019–2021 — Deputy Executive Secretary of the Admissions Committee, Lviv University of Trade and Economics.

Since 2021 — Member of the Editorial Board of the scientific journal Tourism and Hospitality Industry in Central and Eastern Europe.

Since 2025 — Reviewer for the scientific journal Smart Tourism.

Since 2026 — Member of the Expert Commission on the Development of the Network of Active Tourism Routes in Lviv Region under the Lviv Regional State (Military) Administration.
