Doctor of Sciences, Professor
Boris's research interests encompass mammalian molecular biology, proteomics and interactomics, protein biosynthesis, the role of post-translational protein modifications, spatial protein organisation, and the structure and functions of large multiprotein complexes.
Boris heads the Department of Structural and Functional Proteomics at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Genetics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. He leads research on the fundamental mechanisms of human protein synthesis, develops and manages scientific projects, secures research funding, and maintains international collaborations with researchers in Poland, Denmark, and the United Kingdom.
Since 1979 — Institute of Molecular Biology and Genetics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, progressing from PhD student to Head of Department.
1989–1992 — Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Connecticut Health Center, USA.
1998 — EMBO long-term fellowship holder at CNRS, Gif-sur-Yvette, France.
2022–2023 — Researcher at Aarhus University, Denmark.
Since 1995 — Member of the Ukrainian Biochemical Society.
Since 2000 — Member of the Scientific Council for the defence of Candidate and Doctoral dissertations at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Genetics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
Since 2000 — Reviewer for international scientific journals, including Molecular Cancer and Trends in Biochemical Sciences.
Since 2020 — Member of the Editorial Board of Biopolymers and Cell.
