Ph.D.
Olesia's research covers the chemistry of organic dyes and fluorescent compounds and the development of new fluorescent materials for biomedical and other applications.
Her current research focuses on the synthesis and investigation of polymethine dye-based photosensitizers for anticancer and antibacterial photodynamic therapy, as well as on the development of diagnostic systems based on fluorescent supramolecular complexes.
She also has research experience in nanochemistry, polymer chemistry, and the synthesis and investigation of biologically active nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compounds.
Olesia is a Candidate of Chemical Sciences, Associate Professor, Deputy Director of the Institute of Chemistry of Functional Materials of the Institute for Single Crystals of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, and Senior Researcher at the B. M. Krasovitsky Department of Luminescent Materials and Dyes.
Her research focuses on organic and bioorganic chemistry, particularly the synthesis and investigation of fluorescent dyes and luminescent materials for diagnostic and biomedical applications, including photodynamic therapy, biomarking, and analytical systems.
She also manages research projects and contributes to the development of research infrastructure within the NRFU-funded SupraKha project. She is actively involved in international cooperation and science communication, serving as Science Communication Coordinator of COST Action EU4MOFs and as a Senior Expert in the Erasmus+ BOOSTSCIENCE project.
Olesia is also a member of the Coordination Council and Head of the Secretariat of the Pharmaceutical Cluster of the Kharkiv Region, which aims to consolidate the region’s scientific, educational, and industrial capacities for the development of the pharmaceutical sector. She also has experience in university teaching.
