Sergiy is an associate professor at the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Mariupol State University and lectures online at the University of Latvia. Research interests include politics of historical memory, information wars, historical narratives in propaganda, nationalism, and ethnic studies.

Professional experience:

1996–1997: Mariupol State University, assistant lecturer of the Department of History.

1997–2003: Mariupol State University, senior lecturer of the Department of History.

2003–2004: Mariupol State University, Associate Professor of Department of History.

2005–2006: National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (Kyiv), Institute of History of Ukraine, research associate.

2013–2017: Mariupol State University, Associate Professor of Public Communications Department.

2004 – up to date: Associate Professor of Political Science and International Relations Department, PhD of Mariupol State University (displaced to Kyiv).

2022 – up to date: Visiting Associate Professor of the Department of Communication Studies of the University of Latvia (remotely).

From 2023 to the present, I am an expert in the project “Russian Influence Operations in Europe during Russian Military Aggression against Ukraine” for the Estonian Military Academy.
