Description of the field of scientific research:

Dmytro conducts research in the design and manufacturing technologies of gas turbine engine components for aviation and aerospace applications. His research focuses on improving the service life and load-bearing capacity of complex-shaped components of power units, particularly compressor blades, as well as on advanced manufacturing processes for powder-based components.

His research also includes the application of severe plastic deformation to titanium, nickel, and aluminum alloys, investigation of material structure and mechanical properties after twist extrusion and rolling, implementation of additive manufacturing technologies for production and field repair of aviation equipment, and the development of multifunctional coatings and intermetallic γ-TiAl alloys for aerospace engineering.

List of duties:

Professor and Head of the Department of Aircraft Engine Technology. Conducts research and organizational activities in aircraft engine engineering, leads the scientific school “Service Life Assurance of Gas Turbine Engines,” participates in international research and innovation projects, prepares grant proposals, and is involved in commercialization of scientific inventions. Works as a Lead Engineer at the experimental testing complex of Ivchenko-Progress State Enterprise.

Professional experience:

His professional experience includes research, teaching, and applied engineering work in aircraft engine engineering and materials science. Since 2001, he has worked at Zaporizhzhia National Technical University (now Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University), advancing from Assistant Lecturer to Associate Professor and Professor of Aircraft Engine Technology.

Since 2019, he has combined his academic work with the position of Lead Engineer at the experimental testing complex of Ivchenko-Progress State Enterprise. In 2023, he became Head of the Department of Aircraft Engine Technology. Since 2024, he has served as the Head of the National Contact Point of the EU Horizon Europe Programme in the field of Research Infrastructures. He has experience leading a technology transfer center and is a member of international engineering and aeronautical associations.
