Yakiv studies the nuanced analysis of stellar spectra, brown dwarfs, and exocomets.

Professional experience:

From 1979 to 1982, Yakiv worked at the Tartu Observatory, and from 1983 to the present he has been working at the Main Astronomical Observatory of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

He has also been a member of the International Astronomical Union since 1995 and a member of the European Astronomical Society since 1996. Yakiv has also received grants from FP (2009-2013) and a scholarship from MSCA4Ukraine.
