Description of the field of scientific research:

Iryna's research interests encompass state industrial and investment policy, public-private partnerships, mobilisation of private and international capital, and the post-war recovery of Ukraine’s economy, industrial regions, and territorial communities. Her work also focuses on the digital and technological transformation of industry in the context of Industry 4.0 and Industry 5.0, institutional frameworks for economic development, smart specialisation, regional and urban economics, sustainable development, innovation ecosystems, technology transfer, industrial and eco-industrial parks, and the negative externalities of industrial production.

List of duties:

At the Institute of Industrial Economics of the NAS of Ukraine, she combines academic research with the preparation of analytical materials for public authorities, participation in research projects, and support for early-career researchers.

Iryna Petrova studies the transformation of Ukraine’s economy under wartime conditions, technological change, and the challenges of post-war recovery. Her work focuses primarily on industrial policy, investment, public-private partnerships, and mechanisms for rebuilding industrial regions and territorial communities.
