Borys's research interests encompass applied mechanics and mechatronics, structural and schematic synthesis of technical systems, and methods for improving machining productivity and quality. His research also focuses on automatic clamping mechanisms, spindle unit subsystems, robotic production systems, and industrial automation.
Borys is an Associate Professor at the Department of Applied Mechanics and Mechatronics at Lutsk National Technical University, where he combines teaching and research activities. He contributes to the development and quality assurance of academic programmes and serves as the Programme Director of the Bachelor’s programme in Metalworking Machinery and Robotic Production Systems. As an expert of the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance, he also participates in the accreditation of academic programmes in Applied Mechanics.
2004–2005 — Head of Laboratories at the Department of Machine Tools, Lutsk State Technical University, now Lutsk National Technical University, part-time.
2006–2009 — Assistant Lecturer at the Department of Computer-Aided Design of Machine Tools and Mechanical Engineering Technologies, Lutsk National Technical University, part-time.
2007–2009 — Scientific and Technical Information Engineer in the R&D Department of Volvest M, part of the VolWest Group investment group.
2009–2012 — Assistant Lecturer and subsequently Associate Professor at the Department of Computer-Aided Design of Machine Tools and Mechanical Engineering Technologies, Lutsk National Technical University.
Since 2012 — Associate Professor at several departments of Lutsk National Technical University, including the Department of Computer-Aided Design of Machine Tools and Mechanical Engineering Technologies, the Department of Applied Mechanics, and the Department of Applied Mechanics and Mechatronics.
