Description of the field of scientific research:
His research interests include polyoxometalates, isopoly tungstates, heteropoly compounds, and complex oxide systems. In addition, he studies lanthanide chemistry, solution equilibrium modeling, solid solutions, and interaction and stability prediction.
List of duties:
Serhii is a scientist in the field of chemistry and is also engaged in scientific and organizational work at Vasyl' Stus Donetsk National University. Regarding research administration, he deals with practical issues of implementing research projects and creating conditions for their proper implementation. In chemical science, he focuses on the fundamental issues of obtaining new coordination compounds of polyoxometalates, predicting interactions in complex oxide systems, and on the applied aspects of using chemical knowledge to create the latest materials with specified properties.
Professional experience:
From 2003 to 2007, Serhii worked as a chemistry teacher at Educational Complex No. 1 of the Donetsk City Council. From 2005 to 2012, he taught at the Regional General Education Specialized School Boarding School for Gifted Children "Erudite" in Donetsk. During 2003-2006, Serhii studied for his Ph.D. at the Department of Inorganic Chemistry at Vasyl' Stus Donetsk National University.
In 2006, Serhii became a junior researcher at Donetsk National University Research Center for Chemistry. In 2010, he became a researcher; in 2011, he became the acting head of the Research Center. In 2011 he became the acting head of the research department of the same university. Since 2012, Serhii has been the Head of the Research Department of Vasyl' Stus Donetsk National University in Vinnytsia.
Since 2004, he has also held part-time teaching positions. First, he was an assistant professor at the Department of Inorganic Chemistry (2004-2012), then an associate professor (2013-2014) and acting head of the Department of Analytical Chemistry (2014-2017). Since 2017, Serhii has been an Associate Professor of the Department of Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry, and since 2018 – Associate Professor of the Department of Inorganic, Organic and Analytical Chemistry of the Faculty of Chemistry, Biology and Biotechnology of Vasyl' Stus Donetsk National University.
Since 2015, Serhii has been an expert at the Scientific Council of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. He was also an expert on the Expert Council of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine from 2017 to 2021. In addition, he has been included in the working group of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine to develop a questionnaire for a candidate for the expert group on evaluating the effectiveness of scientific institutions since 2019. Since the same year, Serhii has also been a member of the EG-04 expert group on evaluating the performance of scientific institutions in engineering and technical sciences. He also works as an expert for the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance, having conducted ten accreditations of educational programs, including nine as the chairman of the expert group.
