Description of the field of scientific research:

Oleksandr's research activities are devoted to the physical chemistry of biologically active compounds and, more specifically, focused on the electronic spectroscopy of flavonoids.

List of duties:

Oleksandr researches electronic spectroscopy of biologically active compounds, absorption and fluorescence spectra, and fluorescence analysis of substances, chemiluminescence, and flavonoids. In addition, Oleksandr is interested in phototautomerization reactions and the complexation of organic compounds in the excited state.

Professional experience:

Since 1993, after defending his Ph.D. thesis, Oleksandr has been working at the Research Institute of Chemistry of V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University. At first, he was a senior researcher, then the head of the Department of Physical and Organic Chemistry, and now he is acting director of the Research Institute of Chemistry.

In addition, Oleksandr is a member of the Expert Council of the Ministry of Education and Science and the editorial board of the journals “Functional Materials” and “Eastern-European Journal of Enterprise Technologies.”
