Description of the field of scientific research:
Valeriia's research interests encompass evolutionary morphology and genetic diversity in mammals, including comparative studies of evolutionary changes in cetaceans. She works with morphological and genomic data in an evolutionary context and develops computational and algorithmic approaches to biological data analysis. Her research also includes applications of machine learning in evolutionary biology, as well as biomimetics and the use of biological principles to develop computational and applied solutions.
List of duties:
Valeriia is a Junior Researcher at the Department of Evolutionary Morphology of the I. I. Schmalhausen Institute of Zoology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Her work combines zoological research with data analysis, programming, and deep learning methods. She focuses on integrating computational approaches into modern biology to make research more reproducible, scalable, and quantitatively grounded. She is also interested in applying computational methods beyond conventional biological research problems.
