Yevheniia is a researcher at the I.I. Schmalhausen Institute of Zoology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, a zoologist (ornithologist), zooarchaeologist, and archaeozoologist. She has two areas of scientific interest, respectively, studying modern birds (family Corvidae) and, in addition, monitoring rare species of animals. She also learns archaeozoological materials, thanks to which she reconstructs paleoclimatic and paleoecological conditions, animal habitats, and their changes, as well as, together with archaeologists, human economic activities in the historical past.
From 2000 to 2001, Yevheniia worked as a senior laboratory assistant with a university degree at the Kyiv Research Institute of Hematology and blood transfusion. From 2001 to 2002, she worked as an assistant grant manager at the NGO ISAR Ednannia.
From 2002 to 2008, she was a graduate student at the Department of Zoology at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. In 2009, she became a junior researcher at the Department of Monitoring and Protection of Wildlife at the I.I. Schmalhausen Institute of Zoology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
Since 2021, she has been a researcher at the Department of Monitoring and Protection of Wildlife at the I.I. Schmalhausen Institute of Zoology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Since 2022, she has been a researcher at the National Historical and Archaeological Reserve "Olvia" of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine as part of the Institute of Archeology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, department of "Archaeology of the Lower Bug region".
In addition, since 2008, Yevheniia has been a full member of the German scientific group GAPA and the international scientific archaeozoological group ICAZ. Also, since 2018, she has been a member of the Western Ukrainian Ornithological Society, from 2019 to 2020, a working group under the Ministry of Culture to develop proposals on problematic issues related to the transfer of animals on the balance sheet of state circus enterprises to the institutions of the Nature Reserve Fund, rehabilitation shelters, and since 2022 - the German Ornithological Society.
Besides, since 2022, she has been a member of The Society of Antiquaries and the international group for the study of processed bones, ICAZ "Worked Bone Research Group", and since 2023 a member of The International Union for Prehistoric and Protohistoric Sciences (UISPP) and a regular reviewer of archaeozoology for the journal "Archaeology and Ancient History of Ukraine". In addition, she has repeatedly reviewed articles in zoological and archaeozoological journals and several other publications.
