Description of the field of scientific research:
Olena is interested in researching the cultural heritage of Ukraine and the world, museification of heritage, tools of heritage interpretation, social, cultural, political and economic impacts of heritage, the role of heritage in sustainable tourism, sustainable development of heritage areas, as well as museum strategies and general development strategies. Currently, she focuses on the management of cultural heritage as a resource for the development of territories.
List of duties:
Olena manages the scientific center for the Development of Museology and monument studies. She is interested in the science of cultural heritage, the impacts of origin on society, and the tools we can use to manage those impacts.
Olena focuses on conducting scientific research in the heritage field, approbating the obtained results in practice and their integration into the modern educational process.
Professional experience:
Since 2006, Olena worked as a teacher at the Department of History of Ukraine and Museum Studies of the Kharkiv State Academy of Culture.
From 2010 to 2018, she was an assistant professor at the Department of Museum Studies and Monuments Studies of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences.
Since 2013, she has been a member of the Intersectoral Expert Council on Higher Education at the Accreditation Commission of the Ministry of Education and Culture of Ukraine. Since 2015, Olena has been a member of the Accreditation Commission for Accreditation and Licensing of Higher Education Institutions of the Ministry of Education and Culture of Ukraine.
In addition, from 2015 to 2018, Olena was the head of the Department of Museum Studies and Monuments Studies of the Academy of Arts and Sciences.
Since 2018, Olena has directed the Scientific and Methodological Center for the Development of Museum Studies and Monument Studies at Kharkiv Humanitarian University, "People's Ukrainian Academy." And from next year, she will be an expert of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation on cultural heritage and tourism.
Also, since 2019, Olena has been an expert on the quality of higher education in the field of culture and arts of the National Agency for Quality Assurance of Higher Education.
Since 2020, she has been the head of the Center for the Development of Museum Studies and Monument Studies at the museum sector of the National Science Center "Kharkiv Physical and Technical Institute" of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
Olena is also a member of TICCIH, the International Committee for the Conservation of Industrial Heritage.
