Description of the field of scientific research:

Snizhana is a lecturer in literary theory and a researcher of Ukrainian women's literature and literature of the 1920s and 30s, including children's literature. Her main interest is the study of ideological influence on and through literature, including reassessing the place of authors (especially women authors) in the canon of literature and restoring the lost experience of writers and readers.

List of duties:

Snizhana is interested in the history of Ukrainian women's literature: authors, genres, ideas (her current research project is “Four Wars and Emigration in Ukrainian Women's Literature”); national and Soviet in Ukrainian children's literature of the 1920s and 30s; literature of the Ukrainian Renaissance of the 1920s.

Professional experience:

From 2008 to 2010, Snizhana was a lecturer at the Department of Publishing at the University of Ukraine; from 2010 to 2012, she was an associate professor at the Department of Publishing and Network Publications at the Kyiv University of Culture and Arts, from 2012 to 2015 she was a doctoral student at the Institute of Philology at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, and from 2011 to 2017 she was a junior researcher at the Taras Shevchenko Institute of Literature. In 2015-2019, she also worked as an associate professor at the Department of Journalism at Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University, and in 2016-2023, she was an associate professor at the Department of Ukrainian Literature, Comparative and Grinchenko Studies at Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University.

She has been a researcher at the Taras Shevchenko Institute of Literature since 2017 and a professor at the Department of Ukrainian Literature, Comparative and Grinchenko Studies at Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University since 2023.

In addition, from 2018 to 2022, she was a member of a specialized academic council; from 2018 to the present, she has been an editorial director of the scientific journal Synopsis: Text, Context, Media, and from 2020 to 2022, she has been an expert at the Book Institute. Also, from 2020 to the present, she has been a reviewer for the scholarly journal Literary Process: Methodology, Names, Trends, and since 2024, she has been a member of the Ruta: Association for Central, Southeastern, Eastern European, Baltic, Caucasus, Central and Northern Asian Studies.
