Danilevsky Institute for Endocrine Pathology Problems of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine
The Institute for Endocrine Pathology Problems in Kharkiv is the only Ukrainian institution developing medicines in endocrine pathology and conducting preclinical and clinical trials. This is a complete development cycle, which no other Ukrainian institution has.
One of the exciting and globally relevant areas that the Institute is also engaged in is the study of diseases at the genetic level and the development of drugs depending on the genotype of a particular person.
The war damaged the Institute's gene bank, which stored samples from 1,000 people. At a time when there was no electricity for 4-5 days, the bank of genetic materials was leaking. It was a 15-year database.
In addition, the fighting damaged equipment and databases, and windows, roofs, and doors were destroyed.
