Institute of Agricultural Microbiology and Agro-Industrial Production of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine
It is the only scientific institution in Ukraine that defines the foundations of state and scientific and technical policy; coordinates, organizes, and conducts scientific research in agricultural microbiology; promotes the implementation of their results in production; coordinates scientific research of many scientific institutions in our country.
The Institute has a Collection of beneficial soil microorganisms, which has received the status of National Heritage (Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 472-p of August 19, 2002), and a collection of potato viruses and varieties improved by biotechnological methods.
As a result of Russian aggression and active hostilities in Chernihiv and the region, four buildings of the Institute of Agricultural Microbiology and Agro-Industrial Production NAAS were damaged: 98 windows and three doors were broken and damaged; the foundation, building cladding and roof were destroyed, and cracks appeared in the walls; in some rooms of the laboratory of microbial physiology, the ceiling is in a state of disrepair.
According to the expert report on the results of the inspection of the technical condition of the buildings and the information entered into the Unified State Electronic System in the construction field, the estimated degree of damage ranges from 22 to 43%. The shelling also damaged a hangar for storing agricultural machinery, a workshop and vegetation buildings.
A gas chromatograph, autoclaves, thermostats, a digital microscope, laboratory pH meters, and refrigerators were damaged as a result of glass from broken windows, power outages (or lack thereof), and low temperatures (because the laboratories had broken windows and the heating was turned off). Agricultural machinery was damaged, in particular, shrapnel damage to a tractor, a grain sower, and a mounted mower was destroyed as a result of a direct shell hit.
