Basic information:
A voluntary scientific and public organization was established to unite specialists in hydrobiology and hydroecology to conduct research in these fields and related sciences.
It was established in 1993 based on the Ukrainian branch of the All-Union Hydrobiological Society (which has existed since 1940). It includes departments in 12 regions of Ukraine (Kyiv, Kharkiv, Odesa, Dnipro, Lviv, Kherson, Chernihiv, Ternopil, Vinnytsia, Zaporizhzhia, Zhytomyr, Chernihiv) and the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
One of the Society's activities is developing a methodology for the scientific and practical aspects of conservation, protection, environmentally sound use, and reproduction of water and biological resources in Ukraine's inland water bodies and seas.
The Society works on environmental education of the population, participates in the examination of hydroecological materials, publishes scientific papers in its own editions.
Main projects of the company:
Organization of specialized seminars, conferences, events, etc;
Popularization of the relevant field of science;
Dissemination of information among members of the society about opportunities for professional development;
International activities: communication with foreign organizations, exchange of experience.
