NGO “Association of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine of Ukraine”

Basic information:

The Association regularly organises scientific and practical conferences with international participation.

The Association is a full member of the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (IFCC) and, since 16 May 2017, of the European Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (EFLM).

Its representatives are actively involved in IFCC and EFLM working groups and committees, representing the field internationally.

Its activities include organising conferences, developing professional standards and national DSTU standards, contributing to the harmonisation of Ukrainian legislation with European standards, supporting improvements in the quality of healthcare delivery, participating in grant-funded projects, and fostering the professional development of early-career specialists.

With the support of the Association, Technical Committee 166 “Clinical Laboratory Testing and In Vitro Diagnostic Systems” was established by Order No. 313 of the State Committee of Ukraine for Technical Regulation and Consumer Policy dated 3 September 2009. The Association serves as the secretariat of TC 166, which has developed more than 50 standards.

The Association also developed the draft Concept for Reforming the Laboratory Service of Healthcare Institutions in Kyiv and Establishing Centres of Laboratory Medicine, dated 4 April 2017.

Which collaboration would be the most interesting/priority?

Priority areas for further development include the preparation and implementation of grant projects, cooperation with international organisations, professional networking, and the creation of the Association’s own specialised publications and professional literature.
