The Society works to create favourable conditions for civic initiative and self-organisation, and to strengthen cooperation between citizens, civil society organisations, public authorities, and local governments. It also supports the protection and exercise of human and civil rights and freedoms, the advancement of public interests, and public participation in decision-making and in addressing issues of local importance.
The organisation also aims to develop education and professional training, support continuing professional development and retraining, promote environmental protection, and advance scientific, technological, and innovation activities, including technology transfer.
