Scientific Society for European Integration Policy

Basic information:

The Scientific Society operates within the Department of European Integration Policy at the Educational and Scientific Institute of Public Administration and Civil Service of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. The Department has eight academic staff members and two methodology specialists and delivers two master’s programmes in speciality D4, Public Management and Administration: the full-time academic programme “Public Management and Administration: EU Integration” and the part-time professional programme “European Studies for Public Administrators”, designed for civil servants at the request of the National Agency of Ukraine on Civil Service.

The Society conducts a research project entitled “Developing an Innovative Ecosystem for Public Administration in Ukraine in the Context of European Integration.”

The Society seeks to create opportunities for students to engage in research activities. The Department’s staff participate in consultative and advisory bodies established by public authorities, as well as in specialised academic councils responsible for the defence of Doctor of Sciences and Doctor of Philosophy dissertations.

Since the Department was established, it has actively cooperated with the University of Liège in Belgium, the Dr Jan-U. Sandal Institute in Norway, and the Franco-German Centre international de formation européenne (CIFE).

Main projects of the company:

The Society organises conferences and round-table discussions, runs the EUROTHINK research group, and publishes academic collections of abstracts based on the results of its conferences and round tables. It also manages the Department of European Integration Policy’s online page, where it shares information and materials related to European integration. In addition, the Society continues to work on its research project.

Which collaboration would be the most interesting/priority?

The Society is interested in international project cooperation, particularly in collaborating with European universities on the implementation of research and educational projects.
