Basic information:
The main areas of activity of the Ukrainian Botanical Society include supporting fundamental and applied botanical research; studying Ukraine’s flora, mycobiota, and lichen biota; monitoring the status of rare and endangered species; and developing the scientific foundations for their protection. Nature conservation, the development of protected areas, and the preservation of valuable habitats are also central to the Society’s work.
The Society promotes scientific knowledge and citizen science; organises conferences, seminars, webinars, and other scientific and educational events; supports the professional development of specialists; and facilitates international cooperation among Ukrainian researchers.
Another important area of activity is supporting the professional community of botanists and mycologists by creating opportunities for knowledge and experience exchange, implementing research projects, attracting grant funding, and developing partnerships with scientific and conservation organisations in Ukraine and abroad.

The Society’s activities also include publishing the Ukrainian Botanical Society Bulletin, holding the Winter Lecture Series, and organising scientific conferences.
Which collaboration would be the most interesting/priority?
A key priority for the Society is cooperation with research institutions, conservation organisations, educational institutions, and public authorities to preserve Ukraine’s biodiversity. International partnerships, joint research, grant programmes, support for early-career researchers, and the popularisation of botany and related sciences are also of great importance.
