Basic information:
The Ukrainian Mineralogical Society was founded on May 6, 1970, at the first UMS Congress in Kyiv on the initiative of Academician of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences E.K. Lazarenko.
According to the first Statute, approved by the Bureau of the Presidium of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine on February 6, 1973 (Resolution No. 49-6), the UMS existed under the Department of Earth Sciences of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and was an integral part of the All-Union Mineralogical Society. UMS kept this status until September 1991.
At the fifth UMS Congress (September 10–12, 1991), a Statute was adopted, according to which Ukrainian Mineralogical Society is an independent public organization — a voluntary association of citizens of Ukraine who conduct theoretical or practical work in the field of mineralogy.

Main projects of the company:
UMS organizes various forms of activity — itassemblesscientific sessions on topical problems of general and regional mineralogy, organizes scientific conferences, in particular, periodic "Lazarenko readings", commemorative academies, lecture series, publishes scientific papers on regional and theoretical mineralogy, mineralogical calendars and stamps with minerals, popularizes mineralogical knowledge among schoolchildren. UMS is involved in organizing international, national or thematic conferences and seminars.
Which collaboration would be the most interesting/priority?
The Society needs donor funding to expand its publishing activities, to enable it to hold conferences, and to provide financial incentives for talented young scientists.
