Laws define the rights of scientists and researchers, but it is not easy to exercise these rights. For the most part, scientists are not aware of the tools to protect their rights and do not always recognize needs as problems to be solved. There is a need to create outreach or educational programs to raise scientists’ awareness on this topic.
Cross-sectoral partnership, social cohesion, and creation of communication platforms facilitate effective interaction. A wellestablished model of cooperation between business and scientists in the frame of grant funding, where scientists can be seen as customers, can become a platform for advocating for preservation, development, and popularization of science at various levels.
Due to the constant changes in the context effective advocacy requires regular monitoring of the mechanisms of ensuring scientific activity, and development of communication of science with stakeholders and civil society.
Based on the obtained data, a number of recommendations were developed.
